Additional services
Every business client is able to add the parcel return service to their list of services. To this end, activate the return service by agreement with SmartPosti OÜ.
With the return service, the end-client can return goods ordered from an online shop or a catalogue free of charge to the sender within 14 days of receipt of the parcel.
If the parcel arrives at a parcel locker with a touchscreen, it can be returned through Smartpost’s parcel lockers with a touchscreen anywhere in Estonia with the same door code that was used to receive the parcel. If you wish, you can also return the parcel from a parcel locker with a locker-specific keypad, in which case the return must be executed through the my.smartposti.ee self-service using the parcel’s barcode.
If the parcel arrives at a parcel locker with a locker-specific keypad or parcel point, the client must execute the return based on the parcel’s barcode in the my.smartposti.ee self-service by selecting a preferred parcel locker.
It is advisable to include a return card with a barcode with the parcel to make it more convenient for the client to execute a return and place the same label on the parcel.
Business clients will be charged for parcel returns (parcels not picked up by the recipient or returned to the parcel locker) based on the same price list that applies when sending parcels. Collect on Delivery service allows the buyer to pay for the goods upon receiving the parcel.
This is a paid extra service and the fee for accepting the payment for each payment made in Estonia is €0.96 + 1.5% of the amount, in Finland €2.90 + 1.5% of the amount. VAT is added to these service fees.
The recipient can pay for the goods upon delivery according to the selected delivery method The couriers only accept card payments. When sending to parcel lockers, two payment methods are possible depending on the parcel locker type:
If the parcel is sent to a locker with a touchscreen, the collect on delivery payment can be made at the locker using a bank card.
If the parcel is sent to a parcel locker with a locker-specific keypad, the collect on delivery payment can be made via the payment link in the SMS or e-mail sent by SmartPosti, which directs you to the Eesti Maksekeskus payment centre. You can pay using a bank link, credit card or a bank card that allows web payments.
In case of paying to the courier and sending to a locker with a touchscreen, the collect on delivery payments are transferred to the sender’s bank account once a week (these are the payments from the previous weeks). In case of sending to a locker with a keypad, the collect on delivery payments made through payment links are transferred to the sender’s bank account on the bank day following the transaction date.
When refunding collect on delivery payments, we do not deduct the bank mediation fee 1.5% from the sum when refunding, but settle the bank mediation fee on the monthly aggregate invoice.
A detailed report on paid collect on delivery sums is issued once a week on Wednesdays for the previous week’s transactions.
To use the extra services, activate the service in the SmartPosti self-service. IBAN and BIC are required for collect on delivery payments.
In order to identify the addressee of the parcel with an ID-card, it is necessary to know the client’s personal identification code, which must be included in the order when placing the order. In this case, only the person whose personal identification code is specified in the order can receive the parcel from the parcel terminal on the basis of an ID-card.
In case of verification of age, the age of the addressee is verified on the basis of an ID-card upon issue of the parcel. The parcel will be available for receipt between 10.00–22.00 to prevent alcoholic beverages from being issued to minors and outside legal hours.
SmartPosti service charges:
0.30 € + VAT (22%) per parcel in addition to the parcel delivery cost.
A courier can be ordered to collect parcels from a warehouse or office. A notice by email is sent to the sender of the parcel when the addressee has received the parcel from the parcel terminal. In order to use this service, the desired order must include an email address to which the notice of receipt of the parcel is automatically sent.
SmartPosti service charges:
0.10 € + VAT per email in addition to the parcel delivery cost.
